Starter Plan Features
Secure
MilkNotes is hosted on the extremely secure Microsoft Azure Cloud Services. Passwords are encrypted at rest and transmitted HTTP SSL 256-bit encryption. MilkNotes uses 2-factor authentication to further protect access to your data.
Mobile Access
Fully portable with online or cellular access, MilkNotes is a web-based application that can be accessed from any device. It is compatible with Apple or Android smart phones, tablets, laptops or desktop computers. We recommend Safari on Apple devices and Chrome everywhere else.
Customizable Fields
Make charts your own by adding custom medical terms and phrases on the fly so they appear each time you use MilkNotes.
SBAR
SBAR is a charting convention for organizing and reporting information about a client’s condition and care. It was adapted from the military “situation report” and stands for Situation-Background-Assessment-Recommendations. We have adapted the SBAR report to include more lactation specific details and a comprehensive Provider Report that is pulled directly from your charting – no need to retype your report. Additionally, each section provides an area for free text.
Parent Portal
MilkNotes provides a secure portal for parents to pre-enter details about their profile and background like family demographics, provider information, insurance information, and upload any pertinent documents and insurance card photos. Parents can also access their Care Plan, respond to secure messaging, and attend MilkNotes VideoCare sessions.
Parent & Child Charts Linked
The MilkNotes web-app manages files by “encounter” (visit) and the Parent and Child documentation is linked by the appointment date and time. They can be filled out individually or by toggling back and forth between the two patients while working through the SBAR categories. Each visit has an individual and/or combined provider report available for print or fax.
Document Sharing
Upload your favorite forms, handouts, and links in the Resource section of your Dashboard for access in the CarePlan and Parent Portal.

VideoCare
We are the first LC Platform with True Embedded MilkNotes VideoCare™. Video is conveniently displayed inside your MilkNotes WebApp. No third party plugins, third party apps to install, or juggling multiple windows. Fullscreen or thumbnail size mode directly in the WebApp so entering charting details while viewing your client is simple.
eFaxing
No need to buy a fax machine or pay a third party for secure faxing. You can electronically fax your client’s CarePlan and Medical Report to their care provider directly within the web-app.
Secure Messaging
Have the peace of mind that all your communication is secure, documented, and completely HIPAA compliant. All your client conversations are organized and located in one place with time/date stamps.
